Barcelona Marathon, 15.March

More than 17000 runners are expected to participate in the Barcelona Marathon every year, racing around the whole city and passing by all important sights on the way. The race starts (and finishes) at the bottom of Montjuic, in front of the famous Magic Fountain at Plaça Espanya, goes along the Camp Nou or even La Sagrada Familia, covering a total of about 42km. This Marathon is very popular for residents as well as tourists, because the route is relatively flat with only little hills and the most beautiful sights can be admired while running, even the harbor will be visited for a little refreshing breeze near the water.
