Hispanic Day

On 12^th October there is an annual national public holiday in Spain, called Hispanic Day or National Day. On that day Spain remembers the day Christopher Columbus first set foot on America in 1492. That day the Spanish flag is being raised in a ceremonial way in the centre of Madrid. Official parades exhausting yellow and red smoke go through the streets to remember this important day in history.
