The San Fermin is a big festivity in Pamplona, starting in the morning of July 6th at the city hall square with the setting off of the ‘chupinazo’, a rocket symbolizing the celebratory start of the festival since many years. The following days starts early with even more exciting happenings, the bull running, officially called ‘encierro’. Hundreds of people are involved in the encierro, running in front of 6 bulls and 6 steers for almost one kilometer. During the festivities many more traditional and folklore events are happening, attracting in total about 1mio visitors. On the last day, July 14th at midnight, the end of the San Fermin is signalized by singing the ‘Pobre de mi’ (poor me) in the city hall with symbolic candlelight.
