St Jordi, Barcelona

On the 23rd of April, Barcelona is full of roses and books, not without a reason it is also called ‘El día de la Rosa’ or ‘El día del Libre’. On this day the whole of Catalonia is celebrating its patron saint Sant Jordi by exchanging gifts with beloved ones, friends and family. Obviously, women get roses and men get books. It is a day full of symbolism and very romantic at the same time. A nice smell of roses will be all around, putting smiles on people’s faces.
