Faro

Ria Formosa

If you’re a bird-watcher, this wonder should definitely be on your bucket-list. It’s one of the most important areas for aquatic birds in Portugal, hosting more than 20,000 birds during the wintering period on a regular basis. Tours here run about 35 plus euros per person, but the sights are worth the price. Take in all of the splendor as you set sail on a boat to the beautiful barrier-islands and peninsulas.

Praia Da Marinha

Praia da Marinha is a gorgeous wonderland of orange limestone that rises majestically out of turquoise blue waters. Considered by the Michelin Guide as one of the top ten beaches in Europe, Praia Da Marinha is a small stretch of rustic sand in the middle of the Algarve coast. It’s one of the most secluded beaches in the Algarve, which makes it one of the most sought after attractions in the region. Though it lacks facilities due to its seclusion, it’s a haven that you can’t miss.
