Iberinbound DMC, one of the most important inbound agencies in group travelling around Spain and Portugal, is stepping up the educational game field with his wide array of programs of study visits to both countries mentioned above; but right now, let’s talk about Lisbon, an old and traditional city with a cosmopolitan side. If you and your fellow classmates or students happen to visit this place anytime soon, these are the places Iberinbound DMC recommends you:
Places to visit in Portugal
- Torre de Belem: This is probably the most emblematic monument in the entire country, and it’s because of its historical prominence. Built in the 1500’s, this tower was supposed to be a fortress in the middle of the river and nowadays is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Padrão dos Descobrimentos: Rendered as an homage to Portugal’s Age of Discovery, this monolith resembles the prowl of the ships Portuguese explorers used to command to go beyond and discover new lands. It also has the statues of Vasco da Gama, Fernando de Magallanes and Pedro Álves Cabral.
- Igreja do Carmo: One of the oldest churches in the city, this temple belongs to a Gothic design and was built between 1389 and 1423. But in November 1755 an earthquake destroyed most of the building and it never got reconstructed.
- Núcleo Arqueológico: This counts as one of the most unusual attractions of the city. It’s located under Rua Augusta and built around excavations with remains of the Iron Age as well as Roman mosaics and a 5th Century burial chamber. You can pre-book a guided tour around the floors to see the sculptures and pottery.
- MUDE – Museu do Design e da Moda: In Portuguese, mude means “change”, and that’s the entire purpose of this particular place; to change the way we see fashion. A huge amount of vintage clothing and classics are displayed there along with designer’s pieces that will last there until posterity.
Don’t doubt it anymore, and let Iberinbound DMC take you and your class to the wonders of Portugal with its incoming tour operators for educational tours and more.
