The Battle of Flowers, Cantabria

The Battle of Flowers is held every year on the last Friday of August in Laredo, Cantabria. It is a huge set-up of big floats, all made out of beautiful fresh flowers. The floats usually follow different topics and big prices can be won for the most spectacular and most beautiful float. The flowers must be attached quite last minute the night before the festival, in order to keep them blooming during the whole day. The entire city will be full of colours and the smell of thousands of flowers – a must do!
