Cordoba Patios Festival & Competition, 5.-18. May

Cordoba is full of patios, the courtyards in the middle of the houses, protecting the inhabitants from the hot and burning sun while offering some well appreciated shade during summer. Every year in May there is a competition, who´s patio will be the most beautiful one. This is definitely a great time to visit Cordoba, as many festivities are happening at the same time and it is a good chance to finally have a look into all those patios, because usually not all are open for public access. The famous fino-wine and delicious tapas will be served during this event, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2012.
